Toyota is setting up a social networking service with the help of a U.S. Internet company and Microsoft so drivers can interact with their cars in ways similar to Twitter and Facebook.

Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. and Salesforce.com, based in San Francisco, announced their alliance Monday to launch "Toyota Friend," a private social network for Toyota owners that works similar to tweets on Twitter.

In a demonstration at a Tokyo showroom, an owner of a plug-in Prius hybrid found out through a cell phone message from his Prius called "Pre-boy" that he should remember to recharge his car overnight.

When the owner plugged in his car to recharge it, the car replied, "The charge will be completed by 2:15 a.m. Is that OK? See you tomorrow."

The exchanges can be kept private, or be shared with other "Toyota Friend" users, as well as made public on Facebook, Twitter and other services, the company said.

More rain is on tap this week for Montana communities besieged with flooding that has isolated a town near the Wyoming border, claimed at least one life and left another person missing, state and local authorities said Monday.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer declared a statewide emergency as broad areas of southeastern Montana remained underwater.

Rural communities in southeastern Montana, including the Crow Reservation, were hardest hit, authorities said.

In Carbon County, 84-year-old Betty Kebschull was killed after she fell into a flooding ditch.

Kebschull was swept a short distance downstream from her house near Boyd, where authorities found her body Saturday, Deputy Coroner Ben Mahoney said. A Monday autopsy confirmed she drowned.

More than 1,000 demonstrators in Georgia protested for a third consecutive day on Monday, calling for the ex-Soviet country's Western-backed President Mikheil Saakashvili to resign.

Accusing Saakashvili of authoritarianism and failing to tackle widespread poverty, they maintained their round-the-clock rally outside the Georgian public television studios in the capital.

The viewed or edited aspect is unique because with Google Docs I also have files that have been shared with me--either just for viewing, or that I can actually modify and collaborate on. With Microsoft Office, I just have local files stored on my computer. Even files that I am collaborating on are emailed back and forth and saved locally. Granted, I could use Microsoft's SkyDrive to store those files online and provide similar sharing and editing capabilities, but I don't use that as a general rule.

Long story short, though, I wanted to implement some sort of logical structure for storing these files so I can find what I want faster without just scrolling through an endless list until I stumble upon it. So, how does one go about that in Google Docs?

Well, in Google Docs you don't really have folders. Instead, you have Collections. Logically, a collection is like a folder in that it is a separate container for organizing files. However, a collection is different in that a single file can belong to multiple collections, and yet all of the files may still be displayed in the Home, Starred, and/or All Items views. Mark Twain will have to wait to get recognition in the state where he assumed his pen name nearly 150 years ago.

The U.S. Board on Geographic Names has rejected a bid by its Nevada counterpart to name a scenic Lake Tahoe cove for Samuel Clemens, which was Mark Twain's real name.

The Nevada State Board on Geographic Names voted in September to back the request in part because there is no geographic feature in the state named for Twain, whose book "Roughing It" put Nevada on the map.

But the national board, which denied the bid on a 5-4 vote Thursday, cited opposition by the U.S. Forest Service and doubt about whether Twain actually camped at the spot in 1861 as the Nevada board maintains.

"Here you have a state saying one thing, and a land agency saying something else," said Lou Yost, executive secretary of the national board. "The Forest Service opposition was a major factor to a lot of board members."

The euro advanced against the dollar on Tuesday as fresh efforts to tackle the eurozone's debt crisis helped to offset a drop in German investor confidence.

The European single currency rose to $1.4168 in London deals from $1.4153 late in New York on Monday.

Against the Japanese currency, the dollar firmed to 81.61 yen from 80.76 yen on Monday.

Europe offered Greece a second chance to get its finances in order on Monday, as its 27 finance ministers shifted position on how to deal with a deepening debt crisis in Athens.

They refused to rule out new loans, or a second bailout, and expressed a willingness to offer more time to meet 110 billion euros ($156 billion) in existing commitments -- but demanding 50 billion euros of sell-offs first.
