A five-year-old girl shot by teenage gangsters in a shop has been left paralysed from the waist down, according to The Sun newspaper.
Doctors have told Thusha Kamaleswaran's parents that she is unlikely to walk again, the tabloid daily says.
Thusha was hit in the chest on March 29 when a gunman sprayed bullets at two rivals who ran into Stockwell Food and Wine, South London, where she was visiting an uncle on his birthday.
The bullet shattered into fragments, damaging her spine.
She was taken to hospital in critical condition and had a series of gruelling ops. The Sun reports that her condition stabilised but she only regained full consciousness two weeks ago.
Doctors then realised she had no feeling in her legs, according to the report, which cites a source as saying: "The damage was not clear while she had the operations but doctors have now detected that she has no movement in her lower body."
Her Sri Lankan parents, from Ilford, Essex, are said to be "tormented with grief", The Sun added.
Detectives from the Met's Operation Trident unit are said to be "very upset" about Thusha's injuries.
Roshan Selvakumar, 35, a bystander shot in the face during the attack, faces possible plastic surgery, the newspaper said.
